Lino Prints

My work

These black and white artworks have all come from recent walks along the Cornish coast with my sketchbook. As a painter, lines and mark-making are usually confined to my sketches, but cutting into the lino board I’ve been having a great time using them to try to capture the energy of the sea and sky, and the different characters at the edges of Cornwall.

Couple - (Rosevine) - 30cm x 30cm

I love time on the beach in Cornwall, Spring, summer, winter – sunny day or stormy, it’s always a place to inspire.

The sand tells stories of where people have walked, where children have played, and dogs have swam. These two paintings are from sketches made on the Roseland, at the beautifully named beach of Rosevine. They remind me of how I spent a lovely stolen couple of hours.
