I’m very excited to be exhibiting with the Byre Gallery this Spring
Getting my teeth stuck into some still life and landscape paintings.
Here is a…taster.
‘Pomegranite’ – 40cm x 40cm oil on board. See more in Still life
Cliff Park field – 25cm x 40cm – oil on board. See more in Landscape
‘Avocado’ I – 25cm x 30cm – oil on board. See more in Still life.
‘Dancing sky’ – 60cm x 60cm – oil on canvas – £770
When I’m painting the sky, it’s moving all the time, changing light, changing colour, changing form. Here, I’m just trying to capture that energy.
‘Sea pink’ – 30cm x 30cm oil on canvas – £295
I had great fun with this, it came from a sketch done whilst walking along the Cornish coast. Working from that sketch when I got home liberated the painting from having to ‘be’ the right colour.
Sea green – 30cm x 60cm – oil on canvas – £550 – SOLD from The Harbour Gallery, Portscatho, Cornwall
The view from Falmouth towards St. Antony’s head lighthouse. Playing with colour.
Just about to deliver 34 paintings to Fowey River Gallery for my solo exhibition showing from 8th April – 23rd April 2017.
It’s been really fantastic making a large body of work, translating thoughts of and visions of Cornwall and sailing adventures beyond.
Leaving harbour – 60cm x 60cm oil on canvas – £765
Leaving Fowey harbour in last year’s Pilot Cutter review, sailing on the Johanna Lucretia
Late in the day – 30cm x 30cm oil on canvas – £295 – SOLD
Rafted up together in Fowey, Pilot Cutters, the night before the race to Falmouth
Anchorage, Borgvig Glacier, Greenland – oil on canvas – £1250
In the August of 2016 my partner and I were lucky enough to crew on the Aegle on a sailing trip in Greenland. An amazing, vast, beautiful, wonderful and vulnerable landscape, and an unforgettable adventure.
‘Couple’ – Rosevine – 30cm x 30cm – oil on canvas
I love time on the beach in Cornwall, Spring, summer, winter – sunny day or stormy, it’s always a place to inspire.
The sand tells stories of where people have walked, where children have played, and dogs have swam. These two paintings are from sketches made on the Roseland, at the beautifully named beach of Rosevine. They remind me of how I spent a lovely stolen couple of hours.
